New Patient Triage is here!

Why use Online Consulting?

Our Mission: “To enhance the health and well-being of our community by working in partnership to provide our patients with high quality accessible care in a safe, responsive and respectful manner”

Here at Readesmoor we are constantly looking at new and innovative ways to achieve our mission. With patient care at the heart of our decisions we are looking at making a partner led, significant change to our appointment system.

We are living in a challenging time with the demand for GP appointments at a record high and the number of GPs per 1000 patients falling. This disparity continues to grow and makes it more difficult to provide the care we want for our patients. We understand the frustration you feel when trying to book an appointment to speak to a clinician and the time taken to get through to the practice. We have listened to your feedback and have decided to move in a new direction.

We would like to introduce you to our new AccuRx Patient Triage system.

This online system is a simple, flexible and fast way to contact our practice with medical or admin queries. We are then able to triage these requests to be dealt with by the most appropriate team at Readesmoor. Online consulting allows you the flexibility to seek healthcare in a flexible manner which fits in with you and your lifestyle and is not bound by a lottery luck of who gets on the phone lines fast enough. It is very simple to fill out but if you do have difficulty you can contact the practice by phone and we can talk you through this or complete a request for you if necessary.

Online triage has been rolled out in GP practices across the country with positive feedback from patients.

We understand this is a big change but a necessary one to allow us to provide the best and safest healthcare we possibly can.

This replaces our current system of telephoning the practice at particularly busy times to get an appointment. For patient safety the link is live for queries Mon 06.00-14.30 Tues-Fri 06.00-16.00.

Urgent medical problems can still be dealt with over the phone after 16.00 until the practice closes at 18.30.

Key Benefits

  • Flexible
  • Convenient
  • The right person for the right problem
  • No more waiting in telephone queues

Patients can complete the Online Consulting Form online via our website. All relevant medical enquires will be read by a clinician and are then directed to the right appointment resulting in the most appropriate outcome.

The following options appear on the form:

I have an admin query

Contact us about a fit (sick) note, ask about recent tests or ask anything else admin related.

I want help for a medical issue

Contact us about a new or ongoing symptom

  • for non urgent medical issues.

Answer a few short questions and we will aim to respond to you the same working day – if it is less urgent, within 2 days.

You will receive a message confirming your appointment or advice so that you can plan to keep your preferred contact number close by if a clinician needs to call you. You may be sent a link so that you can book your own appointment on a date and time that suits you.

I want to see online advice

See advice and guidance on conditions, symptoms and treatments.

If you decide you want to manage your condition without speaking with Readesmoor Medical Group Practice, our Online Consulting System can guide you towards trusted medical advice as well as relevant local services, such as pharmacy support, which may be more appropriate than visiting the surgery.
